First Wednesday Evening of each month 7:30pm
Teaching in meditation as a form of spiritual practice, the art of being silent and experiencing solitude are important elements of the inner journey. Different forms of meditation are nurtured and encouraged:
- Wordless prayer or contemplation
- Walking the Labyrinth
- Breath meditation
- Lectio Divina or reflective reading on given texts from the Scriptures and wisdom writings from many traditions
- Music, poetry, great works of art as a form of meditation
- The use of icons, symbols and ritual
After a short period of teaching, those who come enter into an extended period of silence.
Sacred Ritual & Breakfast
Third Saturday of every month at 8 am, followed by breakfast
This is a contemplative experience using readings chosen from Scripture, wisdom texts and from our Australian writers, poets and mystics. The theme is selected in response to relevant happenings in global and local situations and is presented creatively accompanied by sacred chant, classical or contemporary music and symbolic images. A period of silence also allows time for personal reflection. Meryl and Lorraine lead these rituals in the beautiful, but simple, chapel of the Gathering Place. No booking required.
